The phonorecord plant in Aprelevka has created the first experimental set of audio discs that are made with the help of a brand new digital system.

The electronic device consists of a programmed control board, a monitor, a video tape recorder and a computer; the latter codes the sounds translating them into a digital language. Herewith the noises are eliminated and the diapason is increased. The new recording system conveys with extreme precision the sound of the most complex scores.

Seven recordings of the Great Symphony Orchestra of the Central Television and Radio conducted by V. Fedosejev are already made. The delivery of the originals to the phonorecord plant in Aprelevka has already started.

- We had to find a plastic mass ensuring the best sound quality, - the laboratory deputy manager E. Afanacijeva said. – So we performed about a dozen of experiments before we found the perfect grains.

The discs with the 5th and 6th Symphonies of P. I. Tchaikovsky recordings were carefully listened to on the players of the highest class and then their exterior was checked with the microscopes. Well, the experimental specimens correspond to all the necessary requirements.

And now the press shop comes to action. After a short time the phonorecords with the notice "digital recording" will come to the mass trade. They need to be listened to on the highest class equipment. This is the only way to appreciate all the advantages of the new recording system.
